St. Patty's Day Parade!

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

Join The Big Easy Rollergirls, this Friday, March 13th for Molly's at the Market annual St. Patrick's Day Parade!

The parade starts around 6ish, so be sure to get to 1107 Decatur in plenty of time! The parade also includes the Camel Toe Lady Steppers, Storyville Stompers, and the Kazoozie Floozies.

May good luck be with you wherever you go, and your blessing outnumber the shamrocks that grow.

Baby Squirt!

Our very own Squirtalicious, 1/2 Pint, has become a Mommy! This is the
second BERG baby for the league (the first being Bruise Springsteen with Mac
last year).

Ilyana Elizabeth (or Baby Squirt, as we like to call her!) was
born on January 22, 2009 at 6:31 in the evening. She weighed in at 7 lbs 6
oz and was 19.5 inches long.

Baby Squirt's very first outing into the world was to a roller derby bout!
At almost three weeks old, Baby Squirt came to the UNO HPC for a little
visit before the Feb. 8 Doubleheader. She was wearing her StoryVillains
colors! "Lil Squirt, 1/4 pint." Mama's Little Girl!

Baby Squirt definitely brought some of the magic her mom has because the
StoryVillains defeated the Tragic City Rollers 153-125.

Of course, the Big Easy Rollergirls hope Baby Squirt grows up to be a roller
derby girl, but her mom and dad would be just fine if she grew up to be a
golfer (that's Squirt's other super duper talent!)

"I'm not sure what she's dreaming about, but everytime she sleeps, she
raises her arms up in what we like to call her 'victory pose!'" says Mama
Squirt. "If her dad has his way, she's dreaming about winning on the LPGA
Tour. He's already started explaining to her how to hold and swing a golf
club!!"

Our many congratulations to the Squirt Household!

Set your TIVO for Kath & Kim

For those of you outside of the NOLA area tonight, check out NBC's hit show, Kath & Kim starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, and featuring members of The L.A. Derby Dolls

For those of you in the NOLA area who are coming out to see us tonight in The Krewe of Muses set your TIVO!

In tonight's episode, we meet Rusty, Kath's ex and Kim's father, when Kath finds out that her divorce from him was never finalized. Rusty runs a roller derby team (expertly played by The LA Derby Dolls), and in exchange for re-signing the divorce papers, he requires Kim to become his new Jammer, a position Kath once occupied.

Blue Collar Comedy star Ron White guest stars as Rusty. Busy Phillips guest stars as the Jammer that Kim replaces.

Tune in to support roller derby, and to see if it is really possible to "act" like a true rollergirl!
